History in the Making as Orange Hosts Towson in NCAA First-Round Action

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the first time in school history, the Syracuse women’s lacrosse squad will host an NCAA Championship first-round contest, taking on Towson on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Orange earned the No. 5 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with nine straight wins and a 16-2 record. Towson enters Sunday’s contest with a 13-5 overall mark.

Tickets for Sunday’s game are on sale now at SUathletics.com and at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students (with a valid ID) and youth ages 12 and under. Parking will be free in the Dome West lots. For more information on tickets, please call the Carrier Dome Box Office at 1-888-DOMETIX.

Fans who can’t make it to the Carrier Dome can listen to the live broadcast of the game on WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area an on SUathletics.com.

The Syracuse men's rowing team retained the Conlan Cup by defeating Boston University. The Orange has won 11-straight cup races, dating back to the beginning of the 2006 season. Syracuse goes for its 12th-straight cup victory on Saturday when it takes on Dartmouth for the Packard Cup in Hanover, N.H.

  

The men's and women's lacrosse teams play first-round NCAA Tournament games this weekend. The Orange men's squad is the No. 3 seed in the tournament and hosts Canisius in the Carrier Dome on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The women's team earned the No. 5 seed and hosts Towson on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets.
