Gait Announces First Recruiting Class
Head coach Gary Gait has guided the Orange to a 17-2 record in his first season at the helm of the Syracuse women's lacrosse program.
5.15.2008 | WLax Syracuse University women’s lacrosse head coach Gary Gait announced on Wednesday that Jill Cammett, Sarah Holden, Kelsey Nangle, Janelle Stegeland and Heather Wentz have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Orange next season. The group is part of the first recruiting class for Gait, who took over the helm of the Syracuse program in August, 2007.

The Syracuse men's and women's lacrosse teams advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship. The men's squad defeated Canisius in the first round and will take on Notre Dame on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y. The women's team beat Towson in the opening round and will host North Carolina on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

  

The men's and women's track & field teams and the men's and women's rowing squads compete in regional championships this weekend. Track & field takes part in the ECAC and IC4A Championship in Princeton, N.J. on Saturday and Sunday. The men's rowing team is at Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass. The women's rowing team is also competing at Eastern Sprints in Camden, N.J.
